Squarespace™ is fully managed from top to bottom - they control everything from hosting the content on your site, to the designs and templates that are used to build it. Since there is no third party code or plugins, Squarespace sites are much less vulnerable to hacking. There is never any need to update themes, software or plugins either, to keep your site running - Squarespace has that all taken care of.
